United States, Mexico, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, England and Ireland among the countries represented at the Valencia Cup Girls 2026
The road to the sixth edition of the international grassroots girls’ football tournament, which will take place from 2 to 5 April, continues to attract teams that, as in previous editions, will travel to Valencia from outside Spain
Germany, the Netherlands and Mexico will make their debut at the Valencia Cup Girls. The international grassroots girls’ football tournament will reach its sixth edition in 2026 and will once again feature clubs from a wide range of countries, surpassing the participation record achieved so far. With less than four months to go before the event, teams from seven countries, in addition to Spain, have already confirmed their participation.
The United States, Norway, England and the Republic of Ireland will return to the tournament, where teams from the Valencian Community and across Spain will have the opportunity to enjoy football alongside girls and young players from other parts of the world.
From Germany, the participation of FFC Turbine Potsdam and SG Hohensachsen (Weinheim, Baden-Württemberg) has already been confirmed. From the Netherlands, SHO from Oud-Beijerland will be represented. England will be represented by three clubs: Henley Hunters (Oxfordshire), Leeds School, and Newbury. Meanwhile, Kerry School Girls will travel from the Republic of Ireland. The European representation is completed by Norway, with Team JC (Haugesund) and NSU (Bergen).
From the American continent, DV7 NY (New York) and the SPF Sport Management Select Team will take part from the United States, while Tijuana FC will represent Mexico from Central America.
The Valencia Cup Girls will hold its sixth edition during Easter 2026. Organised by Sportea Association, the international grassroots girls’ football tournament will take place from 2 to 5 April. Team registrations are currently open, and information requests can be made through the official website, where the registration form is also available.
The event is exclusively aimed at female football categories, in both 8-a-side and 11-a-side formats. The age groups, starting with the youngest players, will be: G12 (players born after 01/01/2014, with up to two under-14 players allowed per team), G14 (born after 01/01/2012, with the possibility of including two under-16 players), G16 (born after 01/01/2010, with up to two under-19 players), and G19 (born after 01/01/2007, with up to four players of open age). Full structural information about the Valencia Cup Girls is available on the official website.
The organisation continues to work on shaping a new edition in which sport, shared experiences and intercultural exchange — driven by the international nature of the tournament — continue to grow year after year. This grassroots sporting event brings together local teams from the Valencian region, teams from across Spain and clubs from around the world, as has been clearly demonstrated in previous editions. In 2025, during the fifth edition, clubs from five countries took part: the United States, England, the Republic of Ireland, Norway and, of course, Spain. Nearly 700 players competed in the city of Valencia.
In this sense, the Valencia Cup Girls is both a sporting and social event that promotes the visibility of women’s sport through football, embracing core values such as teamwork, fair play, education, healthy competition and personal development within an intercultural environment.
Since its first edition, the Valencia Cup Girls has always highlighted and paid tribute to key role models in women’s football, allowing young players to learn from those who paved the way during much more challenging times for women’s participation in the sport. This philosophy is reflected in the traditional “Role Models Match”, a key and institutionalised fixture within the tournament programme.
