Arrels, Turbine Potsdam, NSU and L’Alcudia claim titles at the Valencia Cup Girls 2026
UE L’Alcudia was also named Best Club of the international grassroots women’s football tournament for the second consecutive year. The sixth edition concluded successfully with the participation of 600 players from ten countries
The Valencia Cup Girls 2026 came to a close with the finals in each category, revealing the new champions of the sixth edition of this international grassroots women’s football tournament, organised by Sportea Association. The event proved a great success, featuring nearly 600 players from ten different countries.
Arrels, a team made up of players from clubs and/or areas affected by the DANA weather phenomenon, and participating in the tournament for the second time, claimed victory in the Under-19 (G19) final after a goalless draw in regular time and a win on penalties against UE L’Alcudia. Arrels player Rocío Albelda was named MVP of the final.
This edition saw a record level of international participation. In fact, 70% of the registered teams, which competed over recent days in the Turia Gardens, came from outside Spain. This led, for example, to the unique situation in which the Under-16 (G16) category was made up entirely of foreign teams. German side FFC Turbine Potsdam won the final against Ireland’s Kerry Schoolgirls with a 2–0 scoreline. Germany’s Carlotta Piel was named MVP.
Norway’s NSU Norsk Spillerutvikling secured a 2–1 victory over UE L’Alcudia in the Under-14 (G14) category. The MVP award went to Norwegian player Frida Eriksen. The Nordic club is one of the most loyal participants in the Valencia Cup Girls, having visited the city for four consecutive editions out of the six held so far.
The titles won by Arrels, Potsdam and NSU came in the 11-a-side format. In the younger age group, played in the 8-a-side format, the Under-12 (G12) final was also decided on penalties. The match was contested between Valencia CF Femenino and UE L’Alcudia, with the latter ultimately emerging victorious. Eva Bellver was named MVP.
In the overall club standings, based on the total points accumulated according to the number of teams entered by each club, L’Alcudia was named Best Club of 2026, repeating their achievement from 2025. In previous editions, the title went to Levante UD on three occasions and to Valencia CF once.
In total, nearly 600 players enjoyed several days of youth football in excellent weather conditions in Valencia, at the municipal facilities of Serranos, Pont de Fusta, Tramo II and Tramo VIII, with the tournament concluding this Sunday. The event was supported by the Valencia City Council and its Municipal Sports Foundation, the Valencia Provincial Council and its Sports and Tourism departments, as well as the Regional Ministry of Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana and Comunitat de l’Esport. At a private level, the tournament was also backed by Kappa and Prime.
